The Long Term Color Stability of HIPS and PP is completely dependent on the amount of stabilizers added. (That is, it varies).
There is a wide range of shutters being sold between "maxmium-inhibited" and "non-inhibited" materials.
There is no way for the consumer to know the level of UV protection the product actually has.
Because UV ihnibitors are expensive, cost is usually a good indicator of the amount of inhibitor added.
PP cannot be painted. Paint will not bond to the surace of polypropylene. It will peel off like a rubber glove.
Non-UV Inhibited HIPS is sold as a paintable shutter. Once painted, the shutter is protected, and will last as long the shutter remains painted.
Korad Capped Shutters can always be recognized by the solid colored surface and a non-colored substrate.
