Shutter F.A.Q's

Depending on the look that you are seeking, you may measure for the look of working shutters or for the full length of the window or door.
For the appearance of a working shutter, measure the length of each window (excluding the frame) and order the shutter in that length.
Otherwise, the other preference is for it to cover the entire length of the window or door, so you would include the frame in your measurement.
The width of your shutter depends on (1) the available space around your windows and (2) the appearance. Make sure to watch for any obstructions that may get in the way of your shutters. For the look of functioning shutters, the width of your shutter should be half the width of your window. Otherwise, the following is a standard recommendation for choosing your shutter width.
| WINDOW WIDTH | SHUTTER WIDTH |
| 16 or less | 6 |
| 17 22 | 9 |
| 23 31 | 12 |
| 32 40 | 15 |
| 41 or more | Mult-wide shutters |
From the mounting surface to the top of the shutter, is about Ύ.
